I am encountering a growing number of believers who are examining the difference between the gospel of salvation and the gospel of the kingdom. Jesus said, “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” (Matt. 24:14)

The basic difference between these two concepts is that the gospel of the kingdom teaches people how to apply the influence of heaven to their everyday lives—including their surroundings and daily activities.

There are seven major spheres (or mountains) which impact society: business, government, media, arts and entertainment, education, family and religion.[1] Every believer moves in at least one of these areas, and God wants to use our influence for His glory. As we do this, we are reformers, bringing God’s government (organization, or influence) to earth.

Scripture provides the threads from which to weave a picture of God’s reformation plan.[2] A primary thread is Isaiah 9:7, which says, “Of the increase of His government… there will be no end,” that He will “order it and establish it,” and that “the zeal of the Lord” will accomplish this.

Another vital thread is found in Matthew 16:18, where Jesus says, “I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”

And still another important thread is in Matthew 6:9-13. When we pray for His kingdom to come and His will to be done, we must understand that everything God intends to do on earth He intends to do through His church—meaning you and me!

You were born “for such a time as this” (Esther 4:14). But we must not miss the first part of this verse, which basically says if we can’t or won’t do what He wants done, He’ll find someone else! Like me, I’m sure you want God to use you as a reformer—not someone else!

A Reformation Snapshot

A brief history of reformation allows us to see where we’ve been and where we’re going.[3]

God’s first reformation age began with His Son’s death on the cross.[4] The purpose of this age was to defeat and dethrone Satan[5] and to birth and establish His church. This age lasted from Jesus’ death until A.D. 313, when the church transitioned from being spiritual and supernatural to political and structural in nature.[6]

God’s second reformation age began on October 31, 1517 when Martin Luther hammered his 95 Theses on the door of Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany birthing what many think of as the reformation. I doubt Luther was trying to start, reform, or birth anything—he simply acted on godly conviction that the church of his day needed to embrace biblical truth regarding repentance of sin. Many of the divine truths lost in the Dark Age were restored in the years that ensued.

The church is currently in God’s third (and final) age of reformation, which will culminate with the announcement that the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and His Christ—when the conquering overcomer saints rule and reign with Christ on earth.[7] The scriptural setting which illustrates this time period begins in Revelation 10:7 and continues until Revelation 11:15.

You might ask, “What does this have to do with me?” Simply this; God’s purpose in this age in which we live is the full manifestation of—“Thy kingdom come.” In order to fully manifest His kingdom on earth, He needs you!

Reformation Demystified

God has always been a reformer. From the moment Adam and Eve fell into sin in the garden, He had a plan to restore the environment of heaven to earth through His son, Jesus.

Being a reformer is not that complicated. Daniel was a perfect Old Testament example of this. I’m sure Daniel had no plans to be a reformer—he did not even choose to be where he was. He was very young, not a spiritual leader or someone well known. He simply stuck by His godly convictions even when faced with persecution or death. God poured out a spirit of excellence on him, and in time, he was elevated to a position of great influence.

It’s important to believe that we are blessed of God. Passages like Deuteronomy 28:1-14 and 30:11-20 illustrate this. As we obey the voice of His Spirit and observe His commands, He promises to open the treasures of heaven and bless all the work of our hands—to set us above the people of the earth, to make us the head and not the tail. It is critical to catch the progression—Obedience brings blessing, and blessing brings influence!

Under the new and better covenant, believers are the spiritual children of Abraham and citizens of a holy and spiritual nation.[8] Jewish people understood the concept of blessing and even today are known for financial and cultural prominence. As the church catches this impartation and uses it to bring the full manifestation of “Thy kingdom come,” we will see cultural revolution!

What Might Reformation Look Like?

Once when my husband was serving on the board of our local public high school, we unified believers and successfully removed Planned Parenthood from involvement with the sex education program. Everyone said it couldn’t be done, but God had a different idea!

So much good came from this. The media’s biased reporting allowed me to write a lengthy guest column in our local newspaper. Then, we helped rally believers and introduced legislation banning their involvement in all state high schools. It passed both the house and senate, but ultimately was vetoed by our liberal governor. It clearly showed, however, how believers can unite to bring kingdom influence. (For a behind the scenes look at when we removed Planned Parenthood, click here.)

How Can I Fit In?

Reformation flows from a life of obedience. Remember, Daniel did not intend to be a reformer. He was simply faithful and obedient in the place he found himself, and God did the rest.

Understand you are blessed by God, and blessing brings influence.

Let God position you and give strategy.

Allow God to shape your character, and endure through the process. Every step of your journey brings you closer to the fulfillment of your ultimate calling and purpose.

Reformers are motivated by God’s heart of love. When removing Planned Parenthood, God rocked my world by imparting to me how much He loved those unbelieving high school students and was grieved they were being deceived. Those motivated by God’s love will become reformers!

One key benefit of the abiding presence of the Spirit of God is that He gives us above-natural, or supernatural, insight. The Spirit of God is available to anyone who asks. We know this to be true because Jesus, the Son of God, taught this in the gospel of Luke 11:1-13. The Holy Spirit with us is a powerful truth that, if understood, activated, and mobilized around us, enables us to experience levels of effectiveness and success above our natural ability. The dictionaries tell us that insight is “the capacity to gain an accurate and deep intuitive understanding of a person, thing, or situation.” This kind of understanding brings robust strategies, operational effectiveness, and problem solving ideas to our life and business. We all have many great relationships and partners in our lives and in our business world.  Partnering with God in life and business is the most rewarding relationship of all. Insight by the Spirit of God is just one facet of partnering with God in business.

Insight from the Spirit of God comes to us as we contemplate each part of our businesses interests. I remember an assignment I had to benchmark an emerging super-competitor in manufacturing with the latest methods in quality and supply base management. I was sent with a team to investigate and transfer their best practices into the part of our company that I was leading at the time. I was riding on a bullet train in the middle of the night and the Spirit of the Lord came upon me saying, “Their business model is not sustainable because it exploits their suppliers and does not allow them to survive long term.” This insight saved me a lot of “watt-less energy” of pursuing the thing that looked good, was reported as good, seemed effective but was not good. Not too many years later this competitor faded in to mediocracy.  I am glad I did not copy them without sorting out by the Spirit what was good and what was not good. By the way, the product quality work they were doing was excellent and I took that. If God is in what someone is doing and He tells you to take it in, then go for it. Jesus said, “Follow me,” not “copy them.” When looking at the various aspects of our business God’s Spirit is wanting to help us decipher the deeper meaning of what is going on and guide us to success. Our success in business is directly linked to His plan to build strong and godly families, local churches, and His Kingdom in all the cultural mountains around us. He knows we will distribute our gain from our business dealing wisely and for good purposes. He will give us insight to succeed.

Insight from the Spirit of God operates in our past, our present , and our future. He gives me “hindsight,” “insight,” and “foresight.” This gives me “capacity to gain an accurate and deep intuitive understanding of a person, thing, or situation” in my past (hindsight), the present (insight) and the future (foresight). Imagine what it would be like to understand all your prior successes and failures in the light of God’s understanding and bring all that forward into application for today and tomorrow. What would it be like to have supernatural insight into the past? This allows us to unpack the lessons learned and concisely take them into today and tomorrow. It allows us to see every success or failure as a learning experience and part of our education for the future. We can then celebrate that, declare victory, and move ahead without our past having any negative effect on our future! Hindsight from the Spirit of God make sense out of everything in the past that we need to be concerned about and frees us to leave the rest behind. Hindsight frees me from my past and equips me for today and tomorrow. God wants to give you and me a different and living way to think about our past. Remember he gives the Holy Spirit to them that ask.

We also need insight for today as we move into our goals, unforeseen problems and distractions of today’s business.  As businesses people we always have a lot going on that we are generating and driving. We also have many problems and distractions. How do we get the insight we need to focus, allocate resources, attract new resources and effectively drive forward? We can either do this naturally; and some of us are pretty good at it. (Others are approaching burnout.) Or we can learn to rely more on the Spirit of God; mixing our natural God given talent with His. His Spirit in us and upon us acts like a power amplifier to increase our ability to clarify, organize, resource, adjudicate, mandate, and everything else we need to do to build the kingdom of God into our life and business. Am I making you hungry to hear the voice of God? King David said in Psalms 23, “The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want.” Think about living in a relationship with God where we know that we are being lead by His voice on a path to having our wants satisfied. Do we want to be God’s kings in the earth? Do we want to rule and reign with Him in our life and business? Will we begin to seek to hear the voice of the One who is able to lead us effectively for His purposes in us in the earth? When I found out He was more interested in my success that I was it thrilled me to learn to hear His voice and ask Him for insight for everything.

Lastly, let’s think about “foresight”; the Holy Spirit’s insight into the future. I am still learning a lot about this one. Because God has given man a lot of authority and free will in the earth there are an infinite number of possible actions and reactions that may develop around us. However, none of them surprises God like they do us. Our businesses, particularly large businesses are very complex by their very nature. This complexity is further exacerbated by the infinite number of choices each person has who is in our sphere of influence. That is why strong teams, clear communications, effective measures and the like are needed to succeed. So how does God’s insight about the future work? How does the “foresight” of God help us? He knows what is developing and changing around us and what will affect our business. Of all the financial information and analysis coming in, He knows what is true and important and what is not. Of all the customer experience and trends information being gathered, He knows what we need to pay attention to and what not to allow into our decision making processes. Of all the opportunities before us, He knows what ones we should pursue and when to say no. Contemplating the future with God is the most enjoyable part of business leadership. In John 16:13-15, Jesus says, the Holy Spirit will come and take of mine and show it unto you. He will show you things to come. He will guide you into all Truth. One day I was praying with a young man that had been let go from a fairly high level job at a local financial institution. As we prayed the Lord said, “Ask him what he has and what he knows how to do?” He replied that he knew how to refinish decks and had some equipment to do that. I thought, “No suit and tie in that!” He and his wife started that business out of his garage and it soon grew to support his family and became known in our region as the premier refinishing company. He created jobs for many people.  Then an amazing thing happened. A major business leader who owned a large home where the deck was being done asked “How is it that this business came to you?” He told him his story and the man was so impressed he hired him into a major company and eventually he now is in charge of global business strategy and sales of a major sector of that business. He also is exploring new opportunities outside the company’s normal business which looks like it will lead to a major expansion. Oh, by the way, he looks good in the tie now. God is a reformation God. He is working today to bring you and me to new levels of influence in the Kingdom through supernatural hindsight, insight, and foresight.

So how do we connect to the Spirit of God for this kind of living and business; the God kind of life? Remember Luke 13:13; Jesus said that Father God will give the Holy Spirit to them that ask. Jesus said in John 8:12, “I am the Light of the world. He that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. The greek words in the original text for the light (Phos) and life (Zoe), literally mean the illumination of the God kind of Life: His supernatural insight!. The “God kind of Life,” life in His kingdom, is where His voice rules and reigns. Where His voice sets our direction and creates the future as it should be; on earth as it is in heaven by our declaration. The divine order of God by His word gives us insight; past, present and future. I decree over you that the Spirit of the Living God now begins to operate at a new level of insight and illumination; that limitations are now taken off of your business by hindsight, insight, and foresight; that the powers of heaven are your portion of your inheritance with the saints in light. Rejoice, the good news of the government of God has come to you!

A Kingdom of Priests: Bringing Change to the Government Mountain http://old.christianinternational.com/a-kingdom-of-priests-bringing-change-to-the-government-mountain/ Tue, 22 Nov 2016 20:13:42 +0000 http://christianinternational.com/?p=17506

“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” (Prov. 29:2, KJV)

Scriptures like Proverbs 29:2 underscore that a biblical construct for government founded on principles of righteousness brings freedom, while government that runs contrary to godly standards brings loss of freedom—or oppression.

Recently, our city’s newspaper published a guest column I had written on the bathroom debate. I had not intended (nor wanted) to do this and needed very clear direction from the Lord. However, after several indications to proceed, I got additional clear direction and confirmation—the most powerful which came to me in the form of a dream.

The opening scene was reminiscent of an old western town movie set—everything was stark, lifeless and rendered in shades of brown. I decided to enter a particular building to use the bathroom, but as I entered, it suddenly began flying off the ground!

Like in a flashback of Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz, I was forced to huddle just inside the door, unable to move any further as the building pitched and spun wildly through the air.

Then abruptly the scene changed—the building quit spinning and flying and hovered, poised motionless several stories above ground. The scene below resembled a cross between heaven and the Wizard of Oz! Colors were brilliant and exaggerated and there were lush vibrant gardens of produce and flowers everywhere.

I understood I had the power to give the command that would set the building down. Other people in this hovering structure (and even some who seemed to watch from outside it) waited to see what I would do. Clearly it would bring life and safety to many if I gave the command, but I seemed reluctant to do this for some reason.

But one point was abundantly clear. If I chose not to give the command, it was because of selfish or self-serving reasons. And still in a state of indecision, I woke up.

Of course… I decided to do it.

Pork Chops and Wolves—Intercession and Sacrifice

In this process, the Lord began speaking to me about slavery, or oppression. We may think slavery went away with the abolition movement of the Civil War era, but the Lord impressed upon me that other forms of oppression are just as real and pressing in our day.

There are many aspects of religious and personal freedoms currently under attack, but let’s return to the example of the recent governmental push to mandate genderless public restrooms (don’t let the newly-coined term gender inclusive fool you, by the way).

Here are some things the Lord showed me—that when men and women are treated as one with no opportunity for common privacy and modesty, it is oppression—think concentration camps and prison cells—where lack of dignity and respect are standard. He revealed to me that when Moses’ mother put him in the river her thoughts were that it was better for him to drown, than to die under oppressive rule. And that as intercessors who stand in the gap, we are called to not just intercede in prayer, but also to act, which includes sacrifice. (For this point, the Lord actually preached an article I had written back to me in a dream!)

Sometimes when I’m about to do something like this, I feel like I’m dressing up like a pork chop and whistling for the wolves! But I know that’s not accurate. What’s really happening is that we are in a spiritual battle to ascend cultural mountains, and you don’t achieve cultural prominence without a fight. But the good news is—God is fighting with and for us—we are not alone in the fight!

On occasion I see supernatural evidence of this. Once when I did a column in this newspaper on homosexuality/political correctness, I was getting particularly hammered in the online comments. Then one night I had a short dream in which I saw a Holy Spirit wind blow all the comments away.

And the next day, low and behold, there was a notification on the newspaper’s website announcing it had completely revamped its format and apologizing that all comments on all previous articles had been irretrievably lost! To this day, if you click on the link to this article, there’s one lone comment that reads—“Where have all the comments gone?”

Occupation Involves Risk

One thing that can prevent believers from speaking out against oppressive government is an inaccurate perception of separation of church and state. The historical context for formulating this concept was actually to protect citizens from oppressive rule!

Another is the belief some hold that we’re not called to influence culture—particularly the Government Mountain. I was once on the leadership team of our local pastor’s network and mentioned that we should be releasing believers to serve in places like city councils and as county commissioners. One pastor (of a very large church) vehemently exclaimed, “We’re not called to politics, we’re called to make disciples!”—Completely missing the aspect that we’re called to disciple nations, too.

And some have given in to a spirit of resignation or hopelessness, believing we can’t make a difference, and that in order for Christ to come back things have to get much worse, anyway. But if we’re just hanging on till the rapture, we’ve missed our call to occupy. Luke 19:13 (KJV) says:

And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, “Occupy till I come.”

This may bring to mind the military usage of this word, as when a military force controls a certain population. While this has some merit, it’s not actually what this word means.

The Greek word for occupy (SG #4231) means, “to do business; trading, exchanging (leveraging) one thing for another to make a legitimate gain; (figuratively) “to bear much fruit,” the opposite of being fruitless because of refusing to make trades by “playing it safe.””

In other words, we do not occupy the kingdom by playing it safe; occupation involves risk, as we use the gifts and talents the Lord has given us to increase His kingdom.

And don’t forget—those who occupy are the ones called “faithful” who are given much greater authority (v. 17).

A Coronation of Change Agents For Turnaround

“And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.” (Exod. 19:6)

Scripture reveals believers are called after the order of Melchizedek, who was a royal priest upon a throne, and Revelation 5 tells us we are a nation of kings and priests (Heb. 5-7; Rev. 5:10). And God recently released fresh anointing to those who will bring change to relationships between the Church and Government Mountains.

In March, my husband and I had the privilege of praying with Jon and Jolene Hamill of The Glory Train[i] when they were in Whitefish, MT. The four of us felt the Lord released a word that He is bringing a national turnaround, and coronating new change agents that this might occur.[ii] He showed us Zechariah 6:11-13, which says:

Take silver and gold, make an ornate crown and set it on the head of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Then say to him, “Thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘Behold, a man whose name is Branch, for He will branch out from where He is; and He will build the temple of the Lord. Yes, it is He who will build the temple of the Lord, and He who will bear the honor and sit and rule on His throne. Thus, He will be a priest on His throne, and the counsel of peace will be between the two offices.’” (NASB)

We saw how current governmental officials had actually created enmity between the branches of government, and between the governmental and priestly offices (the church). We felt the Lord released angelic hosts nationwide, and that the new officials God was coronating—His change agents for turnaround—would begin to repair the breaches and unify the nation!

The Eagle Has Landed

Another word released by The Glory Train contained this prophecy given by Bonnie Jones:

The eagle has landed and perched high in His nest. He has an eye for motherhood over this nation. Her eaglets are being released this day and they shall soar higher and with clearer vision than ever before.[iii]

This word really captured my heart because I, too, had heard the Lord say, “The eagle has landed.” Of course, a primary symbol for our nation is the bald eagle and the Lord compares Himself to an eagle in Exodus 19:4—in the context of delivering His people from oppression—only two verses prior to verse 6 (see above)!

But perhaps most significant in this word is the reference to motherhood. In 1 Corinthians 4:14-20, Paul speaks to those in the church that though they might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet they do not have many fathers. He continues, “Therefore, I urge you, imitate me… for the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power” (vs. 15, 20).

A key characteristic of the change agents anointed to bring turnaround in this day is that they will be ones others can imitate. They will carry anointing as mothers and fathers who have not only absorbed the instruction of the word, but can also demonstrate the kingdom in power by impacting and influencing culture and relationships in and between the Church and Government Mountains.

Since first having heard and received revelation of the 7 Mountains in 2007, I’ve been struck by how much time it’s taking for the concept to catch hold. There have been some great teachers and forerunners in this movement (Lance Wallnau and Johnny Enlow come to mind),[iv] but overall, actual implementation by the church seems slow.

As spiritual mothers and fathers begin to move and influence the Government Mountain, we will start to see this shift. I believe the eagle of this prophetic word is meant to symbolize deliverance, emergence, and prophetic impartation.

Calling All Josephs, Daniels, and Esthers

Daniel, Joseph and Esther shared one thing in common—they all were used dramatically to turn an ungodly nation to God. All were chosen by God and anointed to bring change to the government structure of their day.

Other characteristics they shared—all were carried into slavery through one form or another, and all lived under oppressive rule. All were required to lay down their lives—be it in the lion’s den, the pit and the prison, or by appearing without invitation before a king.

As prophetic leaders they brought wisdom, counsel and favor to their kings. They faced danger and peril, yet stood strong. Are you one of these? Are you born for such a time as this? Ask the Lord if you are one who is called and anointed to bring change.

Putting Revelation Into Action

Here are some thoughts to begin turning revelation into action that we might bring change to the Government Mountain.

Be in prayer as to your part. Ask the Lord what you can do to be a change agent in this day.

Be in prayer for our nation. The political race for president, in particular, is causing many believers to be in a state of consternation and concern. Regardless of who wins in November, we should be interceding for God to position anointed counselors, advisors and cabinet members to influence whoever becomes president.

Daniel, Joseph and Esther did not serve godly kings, yet God used them to bring great change. You do not necessarily need a godly president to see change—it does, however, take a church willing to be used as change agents by God. Which leads to this final point…

Be willing to act. I would not presume to tell you your part. Every one of us needs to seek the Lord for direction, confirmation and strategy.

I am convinced as we do these things we will begin to see turnaround. The prophets have declared this the year the tide turns. But we must be willing to engage.

Lord, once again may we be one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all… truly, the land of the free and the home of the brave.

How can the church become Kingdom Influencers and establish Law and Order in an unruly world? http://old.christianinternational.com/how-can-the-church-become-kingdom-influencers-and-establish-law-and-order-in-an-unruly-world/ Tue, 20 Sep 2016 21:27:50 +0000 http://christianinternational.com/?p=16579

by Samuel Rivers, Jr.

Today, the Church is losing its influence in American culture, and Apostles, Prophets, and the Saints should do something about it. It is time to take action and ready ourselves to go through the Gates of Our Nation, States, Counties, and Cities to serve the world. For those who hear and respond, they will be the ones to lead in commerce, advise officials concerning foreign affairs, warn world leaders against foreign alliances, and attack and dismantle the social injustices of the day.

Go through, go through the gates, Clear the way for the people;
Build up, build up the highway; Remove the stones, lift up a standard over the peoples (Isaiah 62:10).

As spiritual leaders it is upon us to shake off mediocrity and live up to the call and commission of God. He inspires people worldwide to reach for and become more than they ever thought possible. God has provided through scripture many examples in historical text, as well as, inspirational encouragement to move forward:

That in blessings I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your seed and the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and your seed shall possess the gate of his enemies. (Genesis 22:17).

Throughout scripture and as recorded by the historian Josephus (Of the War, Book V, v, 3), the “gates” of a city was the place for vital activities for the organization and health of the city and the citizens within. Naturally, it was the area for defense and easily evolved as the marketplace location, where business and social life thrived. The Gates were also the place for justice and law to be established publicly, for the kings and judges would mete out their decisions at the opening of the gate.  If an elder had a seat at the gate, it was a high honor. The seats of authority established at the gate are the predecessors for the Branches of Government in our society today: Executive, Legislative, and Judiciary decisions were made among the kings, rulers, ambassadors, and prophets.

Go through, go through the gates

Godly governance requires the proper attitudes, techniques, methods, and strategies that will penetrate every area of society and impact future generations. Wisdom in governing begins with respect and love for your neighbor, and worship, love and honor to God with our whole heart. These attitudes are commanded by God and certainly begin to paint the proper picture of the believer in authority.

Honor every person, love your brethren, worship God and honor Kings
(I Peter 2:17).

Like a natural King of the earth, the ultimate rule of Civic Government is part of God’s supreme reign and responsibility.

The Kingdom of Heaven is like a King (Matthew 22:2).
“Kingdom of Heaven” – Spiritual; “like a King” – Political

Samuel was a Prophet, Priest and Judge (I Samuel 3:1-21).
Samuel, a “Prophet and Priest” – Spiritual; Samuel, a “Judge” – Political

Therefore, it is His to promote or position whom He will to govern the people, both spiritually and naturally (civically). Samuel ruled in both natural and spiritual realms. Samuel kept Israel under the rule and spiritual subjection of God by decreeing God’s judging action, not wavering, to reinforce the wisdom and word of God. And Samuel was effective in his mission through personal, corporate, and territorial prophecy, continued prayer, and the offered sacrifices on behalf of God’s people.  He also accomplished much through the training and mentorship of prophets, priests, and kings, his supernatural ministry, by being God’s divine oracle, and from ministering in the house of the LORD.

Faith in God and morality are central to the civic virtue required for our republic to survive and prosper;

“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensible supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars.”

George Washington, Farewell Address (1796)

“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with passions unbridled by morality and religion . . . Our Constitution is only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other.”

John Adams, Address to the US Military (1798)

“I sought for the greatness and genius of America. Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits flame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because America is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great.”

Alexis de Tocqueville, Democracy in America (1835)

Augustine, on the other hand, wrote The City of God where he argued that the City of God (God’s kingdom) transcended the City of Man (Rome) and was not dependent upon it. Yet, the peace of the (citizens of the) Heavenly city are in direct relation to the harmony of the earthly city.

The earthly city, which does not live by faith, seeks an earthly peace, and the end it proposes, in the well-ordered concord of civic obedience and rule, is the combination of men’s wills to attain the things which are helpful to this life. The heavenly city, or rather the part of it which sojourns on earth and lives by faith, makes use of this peace only because it must, until this mortal condition which necessitates it shall pass away (Augustine, City of God, Ch. 17, 3).

Clear the way for the people

It is imperative that we re-establish our positions to not only “occupy until I come” (Luke 19:13), but also, to become leaders and towering giants in government.

He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.

And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come (Luke 19:12-13).

Historically, Apostles and Prophets are a called people holding a unique place in world history. They were great and courageous souls—the guides to proper religious belief and correct conduct. Apostles and Prophets were outstanding men and women of character, with great minds, credibility, and members of devout study and training groups.

Apostles and Prophets, with the reputation for wisdom, continually were positioned to speak on behalf of God—delivering messages from the mind, heart, emotions, and will of God, as revealed by the Holy Spirit. These divine messages were proclaimed to the church, regions and nations, as well as, individuals, spiritual leaders, and social and political leaders. The purpose of these messages through these oracles was to provide biblical insight and alignment and, therefore, success in their duties and responsibilities each commanded.

The time is upon us to press into that level of effectiveness and productivity in society, not allowing anything to baffle us or prevent us from going forward.

…of  the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times and knew what Israel should do–(I Chronicles 12).

When the righteous are positioned in seats of authority, we will see the church catapult into greater levels of achievement in society—the plans and plots of foreign enemies will be revealed, the state of our nation, and the state of the state will be made known by the church (2 Kings 6).

The prophet of God sent word to the king of Israel: “Beware of passing that place, because the Arameans are going down there (2 Kings 6:9).

Some Apostles and Prophets of today, even now hear the call and reason to be leaders in the kingdoms of this world— by making known the wisdom of God to the kingdoms of this world, through our unique gifting, anointing, and biblical understanding.

It will take time to reinstate the saint’s role in civic government; first, by renewing the minds of church leadership and laity to let go of an old mindset of antiquated or misunderstood laws (i.e. separation of Church and State) and then, using new courage, step into places of influence in Our Nation’s Executive, Legislative and Judiciary Branches of government.

Build up, build up the high way

Following are scripture examples of key principles of, and godly leaders in, civic government: first and foremost, God is the one who decrees and declares laws.

The Lord is our lawgiver (Isaiah 33:22). There is one lawgiver (James 4:12).

It is the responsibility of His Church to write legislation and appoint judges and officers in all the towns (Deuteronomy 16:18).

When the righteous rule, there is rejoicing in the city (Proverbs 29:2). We shall possess the gates of our enemies (Genesis 22:17). We shall possess the gates of those that hate us (Genesis 24:60). Joseph exalted to Governor (Genesis 41:37-44). Deborah called to Judge (Judges 4). Daniel promoted to Governor (Daniel 2:46-49). All authorities are established by God (Romans 13:1-5).

We are predestined to lead, govern and legislate in the midst of our enemies (Psalm 110:1-3).

The principal and most damaging widespread belief restricting the Saint from these governmental positions of authority is the belief that the minister of the gospel should have no part in politics. This limiting idea, embedded in the Church mind, has done more to stagnate the mission of apostles, prophets, and saints more than any other. This false belief is simply a stubborn fear and keeps one caught in the old model of thinking. Denying this aspect of the Apostles’ and Prophets’ calling to kings, world leaders, and commander of armies, is wreaking havoc in the effectiveness of the Christian Body advancing in Power and Influence.

As we break out of this old pattern of limited thinking, we will begin to experience and demonstrate the height and width of God’s Purpose and Vision for Our World. Using His Power, Authority, and the depth of His Wisdom and Intelligence, we will release His divine messages into the ears of those who manage worldly affairs.

As the Prophets and Apostles operated in laser-sharp focus, accuracy, and integrity— the time is now for saints to step up and reach their full capacity and potential of living a Holy Spirit-led life, filled with Godly revelation and knowledge, growing in intelligence and wisdom and impacting the world.

The whole Earth is waiting for a public demonstration of the saints; and God commands us to war and take possession of all the kingdoms under the whole heaven and establishing His will, governance and values on earth until all dominions serve and obey Him.

Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, were 10 times better in every matter of wisdom and understanding that the king consulted them about than all the diviners, priests and mediums in the entire kingdom (Daniel 1:20).

Remove the stones

Personal transformation is needed.

Daniel distinguished himself above the administrators and satraps because he had an extraordinary spirit (Daniel 6:3).

Be strong for the people and the city (I Chronicles 19:12,13).

Free yourself from self-limiting beliefs that hold you back. Identify and eliminate negative emotions and false doctrines. Develop clarity about who we are and why you are here. Unlock the power of your spiritual gifts and learn to release the anointing.

Overcome every attack that comes, dominate the devil, reclaim the anointing and receive the impartation of Christ, Savior and King (Luke 4:14,18-19,21).

Reach beyond the walls of the church. Be the full expression of God’s glory, with clear, biblical knowledge of our important role in the world.

God is looking for those He can strongly support
(II Chronicles 16:9).

Lift up a standard over the peoples

To be relevant the Church must take a leap of faith (with knowledge) and start to seek positions in the power bases. In doing so, we build citadels of hope for those in the world to witness–solving problems and overcoming worldly conflicts and obstacles—rapidly leading our nation to greater victories with illumination, insight, and wisdom from God (Daniel 5:10-12).

Daniel had an extraordinary spirit of knowledge, insight, and the ability to interpret dreams. He explained enigmas, and solved difficult problems. No one could find any ground for accusation against Daniel in regard to government affairs; they could not find any evidence of corruption or negligence. Nothing baffled Daniel; he was not defiled by the customs and cultures of the day (Daniel 5 & 6).

World leaders must see the Church with an extraordinary spirit possessing insight, intelligence, wisdom and perception, the ability to interpret dreams, explain riddles, and solve problems. The King of Babylon said to Daniel,

Surely your God is God……You have been able to reveal this mystery (Daniel 2:14-48).

Our task ahead is to bring the church to the knowledge of how important the training of saints to serve in seats of authority by understanding biblical principles concerning our role in government. The biblical texts record the positions of the righteous believer repeatedly occupying positions of authority in government and these examples should be the accepted and realistic expectation of the saintly life in civic service.

Living a yielded and obedient life to the Word of God is the common detail in each of the personal examples of authority and rule as recorded in the Bible. The saint in power and position of influence with a life empowered and fueled by the Holy Spirit is equipped to perform supernatural acts and demonstrate the kingdom truths. When this realm of divine reality is accepted and reached, there is nothing that will restrain an equipped body of believers ready to govern, legislate and demonstrate God’s judgment in this present world.

Expecting this transformational outcome, individually and corporately, will require high engagement: accelerated studies and learning, the gain of knowledge and experience through mentorship and fathering. These deliberate steps will give believers the knowledge, insight, and wisdom to dramatically enhance their lives ethically—equipped to lead, govern, legislate, and make righteous judgments.
Through understanding, operating, and properly discerning kingdom principles, the process of breakthrough begins. Believers will experience the certainty of apostles, prophets, godly judges, and officers in every branch of government to serve with righteous judgment, not denying justice, showing partiality or accepting bribes (I Kings 22:10; Deuteronomy 16:18,19; Proverbs 29:2).

We owe the world more… an intelligent encounter with God!

God has given us courage, a sound mind, and strength to perform conquests; He has given us the ability to face and resolve worldly conflicts, just as He has equipped us to display wisdom, knowledge, and insight, or to perform miracles, heal the sick, and strengthen the faith of the weak.

And you are sons of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers, when He said to Abraham, ‘Through your offspring all the families of the earth will be blessed (Acts 3:25).

As saints, we are challenged to bless the nations of this world with lawful expertise leading the families of the world into holiness, prosperity, success and breakthroughs in society, in business, and in the political arenas.

It is time for the saints to jump in, take risks, and challenge ourselves. We must trust God to grant us boldness and strengthen us to fulfill His plans as Saints on the Earth. Our God-given instincts, innate talents and anointing are calling out for use!

Jesus had no dependence on human reasoning.

I can do nothing on my own (John 5:30).

Devoted to God and the ways of righteousness, the men and women of the Bible used their personal relationship with God and His word to guide the decisions of kings and nations. It is the duty of the Apostles and Prophets to bridge the gap of church and politics, and rewrite this school of thought— separation of church and state—to being positioned in leadership roles in Government and in cabinets of Governments, Educational Institutions, Media, Arts & Entertainment industries, and Business, by becoming effective saints doing exploits with our dependence solely on the Father.

Go through the gates! Let us go through the Gates!!!

Power Of The Media Mountain

By Diane Lake

A Key To Everything—Speaking Truth

This is what the Lord says: “I will return to Zion, and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called the City of Truth, the Mountain of the Lord of hosts, the Holy Mountain.” (Zech. 8:3)

Keeping in step with God requires a knowledge of times and seasons, and even now, God is releasing greater revelation as He mobilizes His army to take possession of the cultural mountains (or kingdoms) of this world. The battle is for cultural prominence, and you don’t ascend these mountains without a fight. (See 1 Thess. 5:1-11; Joel 2:1-11; Rev. 11:15; 2 Cor. 10:3-4.)

It’s a time much like when Israel was directed to possess the land. And while there are certainly “giants” on these mountains that are greater and mightier than we are, God is also promising to not just fight with us to take them, but for fight us. (See Deut. 7-8; Josh. 10:1-14).

One of the most significant areas for Believers to understand and influence is the media. I feel the Lord has shown me that step one for anyone who wants to ascend this mountain is that you must speak truth. You need to stick to the whole truth, not rumors or innuendo.

Truth is big on God’s agenda; it’s a Scriptural principle—we just don’t always see it. Jesus revealed Himself as the way, the truth and the life; He is called Faithful and True as He judges and makes war seated on a white horse. Scripture even reveals that as truth springs out of the earth, our land will yield its increase. (See John 14:6; Rev. 19:11; Psalm 85:11-12.) (Photo via Pixabay)

Quite simply, it’s a key to everything—speaking truth.

Step two is a deep revelation of the Lord’s grace—not the form of grace that allows compromise and conforms to political correctness, but a grace which stands firm for truth while conveying the Father’s heart of love, a love that is inclusive, not exclusive. It is a love that fears no one except the One who is to be feared—it’s truth spoken in love. (See John 3:17; Matt. 10:28; Eph. 4:15.)

Step three is to enter a new level of strength and purpose available to the Body of Christ. Recognize that it is not about you. It is about a King upon His throne. All dominion and power and glory are His—a Kingdom without end. (See Eph. 4:13; Rev. 11:15-17.)

A Light-bulb Moment

I remember the moment I realized the power that a media platform could provide. My husband and I had successfully rallied Believers in our community to remove Planned Parenthood from involvement with the sex-education program in our local high school. Because my husband was on the school board and I had given a key testimony, our local newspaper saw potential for a good story, and a reporter called me almost immediately to ask for an interview.

Thankfully, the Lord gave me a strategy, which really aided in this process, but still, the ensuing article reflected a bias towards Planned Parenthood and an attempt to make it look like I had a religious agenda. (Ironically, I actually do have a Kingdom agenda, and don’t think the “other side” doesn’t have an agenda, too!)

Because of this and because some key facts were missing from this article, my husband and I took some heat in the letters to the editor, prompting me to contact the newspaper about the possibility of writing a guest editorial—to which the response was a quick, “Yes!”

And voila! Several days later, there was my 700-word guest column, clarifying the issues and explaining why we organized to do what we did, as well as outlining why a casual view of sex harms our kids emotionally and spiritually (in non-church language, of course).

I’d just been handed a platform to preach truth in a secular newspaper (The Missoulian) with a print circulation of around 60,000 versus preaching to the same small congregation who already agreed with my message.

It was a light-bulb moment for me.

Our “One Speech” World

“Now the whole earth had one language and one speech.” (Gen. 11:1)

Since then, I’ve written columns in this same newspaper on topics like homosexuality/political correctness, sexual assault prevention on our local university campus, gun control issues—and most recently—the bathroom debate. And the Lord has increased our ministry’s reach through several major prophetic media platforms as well. I say this to encourage others that you don’t need a large ministry presence or staff in order to influence through media. We don’t have either of these things. Simply having a large God will do!

The power of communication (media) is revealed through the story of the Tower of Babel (Gen. 11:1-9). The whole earth had one speech, or language, and as they came together with one purpose, nothing that they proposed to do would be withheld from them (v. 6). God scrambled communications to scatter them in order to prevent their ungodly agenda from manifesting!

A similar “one-speech” model exists in the earth today through the power of the Internet, social media, and various forms of instant satellite communication. Information that once took hours, days or even weeks to disseminate can now be communicated worldwide in seconds. (Photo via flickr)

Without media, the other mountains of societal influence (education, business, government, etc.) would be “scattered”—inability to communicate would greatly reduce their relevancy. Think about it—without media, how could a business today operate without being able to advertise or market their product, and communicate both internally and with consumers? The Super Bowl would have little impact if it wasn’t broadcast, and today’s ministries and churches must take advantage of social media, podcasts, and other means of disseminating their message to sustain relevance.

Regardless of whether or not you are directly called to the media mountain, what God is doing in the earth is so big, that to keep in step with Him, you will need to pay attention to various forms of media and understand the powerful significance they have in our time.
